In Jharkhand, four Lok Sabha constituencies of Koderma, Chatra, Lohardaga and Palamu where polling is taking place today has witnessed more than 24 percent of polling till 11 AM.
All the four are in naxal affected areas but people are coming out to vote despite the naxal call for poll boycott. Highest percentage is recorded in Koderma which has seen 30 per cent of polling, while heavily naxal affected Chatra has seen 24 percent poll till 11AM.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made with the deployment of 49 thousand security forces, out of which 45 thousands are on duty in over seven thousand polling booths spread across 10 districts.
201 web cams are set up in sensitive booths to monitor the poll live by the Election Commission.
