President Ram Nath Kovind has said that Jharkhand is progressing fast and is ahead of many other states in ease of doing business. <br/><br/>The President, who was the chief guest at the programme celebrating the 17th foundation day of Jharkhand, said the state has 40 per cent of the minerals of the country, which is conducive for the development of trade and industry in the state. <br/><br/>Mr Kovind also appreciated the development and welfare schemes of the state government wherein the government is establishing 'Sakhi Mandals' in 32,000 villages where four lakh and eighty thousand women will be directly associated with different government schemes.<br/><br/>On the foundation day, Mr Kovind also inaugurated 1500 crore rupees Johar Yojana for the poor, health insurance scheme for most of the families of the state, emergency ambulance service scheme and road construction schemes of the state. <br/><br/>The World Bank aided JOHAR (Jharkhand's Opportunities For Harnessing Rural Growth) scheme is aimed at doubling the income of two lakh rural poor. <br/><br/>The President also distributed properties worth five thousand crore rupees among 35 thousand beneficiaries. He gave appointment letters to 254 doctors, 363 teachers and 24 college Principals. <br/><br/>Later speaking at another function, the President congratulated Yogoda Satsanga Society and those associated with it for their commendable contribution in spreading the message of yoga all over the world. <br/><br/>He also appreciated the service of the Society's ashrams and meditation centres in social welfare activities.<br/><br/>Earlier, Mr Kovind also paid tributes to illustrious heroes of Jharkhand, including the freedom fighter Birsa Munda, whose birth anniversary was also celebrated today.
