In Jharkhand, the JMM, Congress and the RJD have sought more time from the governor to explore the possibility of formation of a new government in the state.
The governor had separate meetings with the leaders of these parties in capital Ranchi. Later the leaders of these parties said that they have urged the Governor not to dissolve the state Assembly.
A delegation of left parties and the legislature party leader of AJSU Sudesh Mahto also met the governor separately and favored dissolution of the Assembly for holding fresh elections.
The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Chief Babulal Marandi has also called for fresh elections in the state. The governor is likely to send a second status report to the centre soon.
The Arjun Munda government was reduced to minority after the JMM withdrew support to it on the 8th of this month and resigned recommending the solution of the Assembly to the governor.
