In Jharkhand, 48 per cent polling has been recorded for the by-election of Jamshedpur Parliamentary Constituency today. The polling has been by and large peaceful despite bandh call given by the naxalites. ‘Defying the bandh-call of the ultras, long queues of voters, including a large number of women, were seen at several booths in the naxal-hit Patamada and Ghatshila areas. However, the ultras tried to terrorise the voters by opening fire in Maheshpur area under Gurabanda police station of Ghatshila assembly segment. Two suspected criminals were also arrested fromRasunsupa area in Potka.
