Jharkhand HC orders CBI probe into alleged horse trading in 2010 Rajya Sabha polls

Jharkhand High Court has ordered a CBI probe into the alleged horse trading in the Rajya Sabha election of 2010.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice Prakash Chand Tatia and Justice Jaya Rai passed this order on Monday.

In 2010 Rajya Sabha election, a sting operation of accepting bribe by different MLAs were shown in various TV channels, after which an inquiry by State Vigilance Bureau was ordered.

High Court criticised the slow pace of inquiry by the Vigilance bureau and has asked the CBI to probe into the criminal liability of those officers of the bureau who have caused deliberate delay in the inquiry.

A CBI probe had already been ordered into the alleged horse trading of 2012 election of Rajya Sabha from the state.

Meanwhile, the State unit of the BJP has also demanded CBI probe into the Rajya Sabha election of 2008 of the state.
