<span style="color: #222222;">The Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to RJD president Lalu Prasad in Dumka treasury case of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam, paving way for his release from jail.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The court directed him neither to leave the country without permission nor change his address and mobile number during the bail period.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Lalu's councel has filed bail application in the High Court saying that the RJD chief has completed half of the sentence in the case so he should be allowed bail.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The plea also cited the poor health condition of septuagenarian Prasad.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The RJD supremo has been convicted in four fodder scam cases. He was convicted in the first case in 2013 and in two more cases in 2017 and 2018.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Prasad had acquired bail in three other cases of the fodder scam and was waiting for judgement in the instant case related to illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury in 90s to come out of the jail.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Prasad is presently recuperating at AIIMS New Delhi.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This particular case pertains to the scandalous withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury by the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department between the period of 1991 and 1996 when Yadav served as the chief minister.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Yadav has been in prison since December 2017 and was sentenced to seven years of jail in 2018 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven years under the Prevention of Corruption Act in relation to the fodder scam case.</span><br />''  <br />
