Jharkhand Guv invites JMM Chief Shibu Soren to form new govt.

The Jharkhand Governor Mr. K. Shankar Narayanan has invited JMM Chief Shibu Soren to form the new government in the state. Mr. Shibu Soren met the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi this afternoon. Oath taking ceremony will be held at Mohrabadi Maidan in Ranchi on Wednesday at two P.M. Jharkhand is under President Rule since January, 2009.<br/> The JMM Supremo staked the claim yesterday to form the government in Jharkhand. He met the Governor alongwith his senior party leaders and newly elected members. Senior BJP leaders including Yashwant Sinha, party General Secretary Anant Kumar, Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda and State Party President Raghubar Das were present during this meeting. Mr. Soren submitted a list of 42 MLAs. Later, BJP ally Janata Dal(United), which has two members, met the Governor and handed over a letter in favour of Shibu Soren in the formation the new government. The total number of MLAs backing Mr Soren went up to 44 in a house of 81. More from our Ranchi correspondent.
