<span style="color: #222222;">Jharkhand State government has declared spitting in public places, government, non-government offices, educational institutions, police stations and open spaces and sale of tobacco as a punishable offence to contain the spread of COVID-19. Any person found spitting in any public place or any place shall be jailed for a term of 6 months.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' In the recent order by the state government, sale of tobacco and tobacco products, cigarettes, pan masala, gutkhas, hookahs, e-hookahs, e-cigarettes has been banned in the state completely.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The order is applicable to all 24 districts of the state and is an extension under the National Directives of COVID-19 Management under Epidemic Diseases Act.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Talking to AIR, Principal Secretary of Health, Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni confirmed that the ban on tobacco has been put for an indefinite time frame.
