The Jharkhand Government is planning to acquire 1,000 acres land to set up information technology projects. Speaking to reporters in Ranchi today, Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Singh said that Chief Minister Arjun Munda has ordered acquisition of 1,000 acres near Ranchi to develop the state as the new Silicon Valley of the country. He said, major IT companies would be invited to set up their units after development of necessary infrastructure.Meanwhile, the opposition Congress party called this project as far fetched idea. State Congress spokesperson Radha Krishna Kishore has said that talking about Sillicon valley in a poor state like Jharkhand where more than half of the population live in poverty is a cruel joke.
