Jharkhand Governor M.O.H. Farook today approved the state government's ordinance related to regularization of houses constructed without approval of government authorities. Speaking to our Ranchi Correspondent, the PRO of Raj Bhawan M N Jha said that the Governor approved the ordinance after the state cabinet approved it. The Ordinance will provide relief to the construction works in urban areas which were made either without proper sanctions of any building plan, or alteration were done beyond the approved plans.On the directive of the Jharkhand High Court, a demolition drive is going on in the entire state against unauthorized buildings and encroachments. Now people can save their building from demolition by way of applying for regularization in view of this ordinance.For regularization of such building, a fine, based on calculation of compound interest, would be collected. Huts and construction done on less than 20 sq. meters are exempted from this. The ordinance would be effective for next six months and the application for regularization will have to be made during this period.Speaking to the reporters at Ranchi, Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that all sections of the state population would get benefits from this, as the Ordinance was introduced keeping their interests in mind.The ordinance will, however, not protect those buildings which have been constructed after encroachment on government land, greenbelt land or on tribal land fraudulently acquired.
