The Koderma district court in Jharkhand has rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of the boyfriend and brother of late journalist Nirupama Pathak, who was found dead in her Koderma home last April. The police had earlier filed a report which said that Priyabhanshu Ranjan, Nirupama Pathak's boyfriend, and Samrendra Pathak, her brother were guilty of abetting her suicide. During the last 11 months investigation, the police found no evidence of murder and the suicide note that Nirupama Pathak left was found to be genuine by the forensic lab. AIR correspondent reports, the police had sought a court order for issuing arrest warrants against the accused which the court granted, forcing the accused to plead for anticipatory bail.
