In Jharkhand, a Special Enforcement Directorate (ED) court in Ranchi today sentenced former State Minister and three-term MLA from Kolebira constituency Ainosh Ekka to seven years of rigorous imprisonment in a money laundering case. Ekka has also been imposed a fine of two crore rupees by the court.<br />''<br />''Justice Anil Kumar Mishra also ordered to forfeiture of all the property of Ainosh Ekka which has been acquired illegally. Mr Ekka was presented before the court through video-conferencing from Birsa Munda Hotwar jail. The court had decided to issue order of punishment to the former minister on 31st of March 31 against money-laundering case of 20.31 crore rupees during the tenure of Madhu Koda Government. The last debate in the special ED court was completed on 7th of March, where the court had reserved its final judgement for 21st of March. Due to Lockdown, the punishment could not be given to Ekka.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Ekka is serving punishment for a term of seven years imprisonment by special CBI court for disproportionate assets matter after the court ordered the sentence on 26th of February this year.
