Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda alongwith two Dy. Chief Ministers Hemant Soren and Sudesh Mahto has met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee separately in New Delhi today in connection with various issues pertaining to the state. While on the issue of ongoing anti-encroachment drive in the state at the behest of orders from Jharkhand High Court, the Chief Minister appraised the Prime Minister about the rehabilitation policy of the state and requested assistance from the Centre in this regard. The CM also requested the Prime Minister to re- include the Vaishya communities of Jharkhand into the OBC category. On the other hand, the meeting with the Union Finance Minister was focussed around the issue of Plan size for the state, development of Santhal Pargana and opening of an airport at Deoghar, for which the CM expressed willingness to commit necessary resources on behalf of Jharkhand.
