Jharkhand CM announces to give cash reward to medal winners from state in Olympic Games

In Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced to give cash reward of two crore, one crore and 75 lakh rupees to Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners from the state in the Olympic Games.
 
AIR correspondent reports, as part of the newly amended Sports Policy of the State Government, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced cash rewards of Rupees 2 crore, 1 crore and 75 lakhs respectively for prospective Gold, Silver and Bronze Olympic medal winners from the State.
 
Rewarding the World No. 1 ace archer from Jharkhand, Deepika Kumari, Mr Soren announced a cash reward of Rupees 50 lakhs for winning three Gold medals at the recently concluded World Archery Cup in Paris.
 
Her teammates Komalika Bari and Ankita Bhakat were also honoured with a cash reward of 20 lakh rupees each by the State Government.
 
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Government will now provide 15 lakh rupees insurance cover to sports persons for participating in international sporting events.
