Jharkhand Cabinet approves dismissal of 22 ADJs

In Jharkhand, the State Cabinet on Thursday approved the dismissal of 22 serving Additional District Judges (ADJs) of the state. The decision was taken in view of an order from the Jharkhand High Court on 7th March 2011, which had cancelled the appointments of these 22 ADJs on grounds of procedural irregularities.Briefing the media after the 25th Cabinet meeting of the state government, Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swaroop said, the state government has also approved 7 lakh rupees each for 26 gold medalists of the 34th National Games held in the state this year. 5 lakh rupees each was approved for 21 silver medalists and 3 lakh each for 33 bronze medalists in individual categories. The medal winners in team events would also get the money based on the number of members in the team. Similarly, coaches of gold medalists would be given 2 lakh rupees each, coaches of silver medalists one lakh rupee each and of bronze medals 50 thousand rupees each.The Cabinet also decided to increase the retirement age of Government doctors- both from the teaching and non-teaching field, from 60 to 65 years.
