CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has been elected the new Prime Minister of Nepal. An announcement to this effect was made by Speaker Subhash Nemwang in Parliament Thursday evening. Khanal polled 368 votes, exceeding the simple majority of 300 required for his election.Earlier, addressing the parliament, CPN(UML) Chairman Khanal said he will make all efforts to complete the integration of Maoist army into security forces in the next one and half months and drafting of the new constitution within the May 28 dateline.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports, after 16th rounds of failed attempts, Nepal's parliament finally succeeded in electing a new Prime Minister on Thursday giving a sigh of relief to the people who were feeling frustrated at the delay in forming the new government.
