Jewish settlers have started building more than 600 homes in the West Bank since a building freeze expired three weeks ago. An Israeli watchdog says, the pace of building is four times faster than before the ban was put in place. Recently re-launched Middle East peace talks could collapse over Jewish settlement building on occupied land.Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has vowed to leave the talks unless Israel renews its partial construction freeze.Meanwhile, a humanitarian convoy that includes passengers who survived a previous fatal flotilla incident arrived in Egypt near the border of Gaza. The organization today said, the Viva Palestina convoy arrived in Al-Arish on Wednesday. The convoy was joined by ships from Morocco, Algeria, Jordan and Persian Gulf nations. Two of the ships were slated to pass through the point at which Israeli troops boarded the Mavi Marmara aid convoy in May. Israeli troops used force on the activists in that incident, leaving eight Turks and one U.S.-Turkish dual citizen dead.
