The representatives of jewellery manufacturers are meeting today with the Finance Minister Pranab mukherjee to press their demands. The jewellers strike has entered 21st day today as they are demanding the roll back of excise duty proposed in the budget.

Congress today asked the government to consider the demand of jewellers sympathetically.

AICC General Secretary and media department Chief Janardhan Dwivedi said this in a statement.

Representatives of jewellery manufactures from major cities also met Congress President Sonia Gandhi today in New Delhi.
