Domestic private airlines Jet and Kingfisher have hiked fuel surcharge while some others including Spice Jet may soon follow. The fuel surcharges have been hiked by up to 200 rupees on domestic flights. The hike comes into force with immediate effect. The fuel surcharge on flights below 1,000 kilometers has been hiked by 100 rupees while for flights above 1,000 kilometers it would be 200 rupees, the airlines said. Air-carrier Spice Jet said that it was mulling a similar hike to partially offset increasing operating costs.
