The five suspected members of Pakistan-based militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed who had been arrested in Bangladesh have been sent to police custody by two courts in Dhaka.The accused also includes top Jaish militant Nannu Mia also known as Belal Mandol, who has reportedly admitted to have played a key role in the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999 to Kandahar. The Indian authorities had to set free three militant leaders including JeM supremo Moulana Masood Azhar in exchange for passengers taken hostage. Meanwhile in Dhaka, the police informed the court that the five people arrested were carrying out 'anti-state activities' from a city centre flat. The two Dhaka courts sent them to police remand for seven and three days to facilitate investigations. Among the arrested, 26 year old Rezwan Ahmed was a Pakistan citizen and had been coordinating JeM operations in Bangladesh. The other people arrested include Abu Naser Munshi, Imad Uddin and Sadeque Hossain.
