In Bihar, the Janata Dal (United) has retained the Laukha Assembly seat. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the JD (U) candidate Satish Kumar Sah defeated his nearest rival Mukhtar Ahmad of RJD by a margin of 22,763 votes. JD(U)'s Satish Kumar Sah got 64 thousand 425 votes while RJD candidate Mukhtar Ahmad got fourty one thousand 662 votes. The bypolling was necessitated following the death of Minster Hari Prasad Sah.
