After the Byelections in Bihar, the JD(U) has 117 MLAs in a house of 243 and is supported by 4 Congress legislators and 7 independents.
Janta Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav has said a new government led by JD(U) will be formed in the state.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, he said his party is ready to sink differences with RJD Chief Lalu Prasad for forming a secular alliance government in Bihar.
The Bihar Governor D Y Patil has accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his cabinet. Nitish Kuamr had resigned yesterday as Chief Minister taking the moral responsibility for JD(U)'s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections. He however did not recommend dissolution of the assembly.
