<span style="color: #222222;">Janta Dal (United) would contest upcoming assembly elections independently in Delhi and Jharkhand.<br />''<br />'' This was decided today in the meeting of the newly formed national council of JD(U) in New Delhi headed by party national president and chief minister Nitish Kumar. JD(U) general secretary K.C. Tyagi informed about the decision taken in the meeting. After taking charge of party helm consecutive second time Mr. Kumar said that party is in a robust position in Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. The JD(U) national president said the party would strive to attain the status of the national party by performing better in assembly elections. Mr. Kumar said this would not have any adverse effect on the party's relation with BJP. The party national executive further ratified Nitish Kumar as national president of JD(U) till 2022.  He was recently elected as party president unopposed.</span><br />
