In Bihar the JD(U), RJD and Congress have formed an alliance to take on BJP in the bypolls for ten assembly seats in the state next month.
State unit JD(U) President Bashisth Narayan Singh told reporters in Patna that a grand alliance has been clinched among the three parties with the JD(U) and RJD getting four seats each.
He said the Congress will contest in the remaining two seats.
Singh, however, refused to divulge the specific seats from which the respective parties would contest saying that the details would be announced later.
Describing the alliance among the JD(U), RJD and Congress as the need of the hour to take on the BJP, he said former chief ministers Nitish Kumar of JD(U) and Lalu Prasad of RJD will campaign together in the assembly bypoll.
AIR Patna correspondent reports that the BJP is also likely to announce its seat sharing formula with coalition partner soon. The Party has alliance with LJP and RLSP in the state.
