The meeting of the JD(U) MLAs is now underway in Patna to choose their leader after the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Before the meeting senior party leaders including JD(U) President Sharad Yadav, Legislators and workers visited Nitish Kumar's residence to persuade him to rethink on his decision.

Sharad Yadav also held separate meetings with senior leaders.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Yadav also held talks in Delhi with Congress leadership which is understood to have assured him support in the new government formation in Bihar.
