Janata Dal United has dropped its plan to forge a grand alliance for 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. JDU National Secretary KC Tyagi told AIR the party will strengthen its base across Uttar Pradesh by carrying out membership drive and by holding rallies.<br/><br/>He asserted that JDU will work hard to stop the BJP from coming to power in Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Tyagi said, the party will contest those seats where the JDU is in stronger position and make all efforts to spoil the BJP's gameplan. He said, the BJP cannot not be an alternative to SP and BSP and people should look at the JDU for the same.
