JD (U) demands special status for Bihar

A six-member Janata Dal (United) delegation led by its national president Sharad Yadav on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and demanded special status to Bihar for all-round development of the state.The Party General Secretary Javed Raza told reporters that Dr. Singh listened the delegation patiently and said the issue would be placed before the next meeting of National Development Council, NDC. The NDC meeting scheduled to be held next month. JD (U) has claimed that they have collected 1.25 crore signatures of the people of Bihar in support of their demand.
