JD-U criticises protest by BJP against EC as unjustified & unfortunate

JD(U) has criticised the protest by BJP against Election Commission as unjustified and unfortunate. Referring to BJP's protest against the Commission for denying permission to organize a rally at Benia Bag in Varanasi, yadav told reporters in New Delhi that it is upto the Commission to decide whether to give permission for a rally or not.

Yadav said it is the duty of all the political parties to strengthen the constitutional body. He said his party and Aam Aadmi Party were also not allowed to hold election meetings in the city earlier but they did not make it an issue.

JD(U) chief also criticized BJP leader Narendra Modi for projecting himself as a representative of Backward classes. He said prior to elections, Modi had never spoken about the welfare of Backward communities and farmers.
