The CBI has handed over the documents on the alleged irregularities in forest land diversion by the former Union Minister Jayanthi Natarajan to the Income Tax authorities. The documents were seized by the CBI during a raid at her residence in Chennai in September last and were kept sealed there. <br/><br/>As the IT Department wanted to have access for them for its probe, sources said, a team of officials from both the organizations visited her residence today and exchanged the documents.<br/>The CBI has booked the Congress leader from Tamil Nadu Ms Jayanthi Natarajan of abusing her official position as the Minister of State for Environment and Forests in 2012. <br/><br/>It charged that she had given clearance to the diversion of about 56 hectares of Saranda forests land in Singhbhum district of Jharkhand to a private mining firm in violation of the Forests Conservation Act.
