Jayalalithaa visits cyclone hit areas; promise to render all possible help

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa on Wednesday visited the cyclone hit areas of Cuddalore district. After an aerial survey of the cyclone hit areas, the Chief Minister distributed 2 crore, 85 lakh rupees to 6036 beneficiaries. She assured that her government was always ready to render all possible help to the affected. The Chief Minister told them that basic infrastructure facilities would be restored quickly. Earlier on Wednesday, the DMK President and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi also visited the affected areas in Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur districts and promised welfare measures. He also assured that the DMK party would take forward the cause of the affected people to the Centre. Visiting the affected parts at Villupuram, PMK founder Dr. Ramadoss said that Army should be called in for taking up restoration work immediately.
