The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa's bail pleas till Tuesday.
The High Court vacation bench ruled in its special sitting that Jayalalitha’s bail plea can be heard by a regular bench after the vacations.
Justice Rathnakala opined that a case of such magnitude cannot be heard by a vacation bench.
The regular court will open after Bakrid on October 7 and all the convicts in the disproportionate assets case, including Jayalalitha will have to remain in Bangalore central jail till the next hearing on the same day.
Jayalalithaa has been in jail since Saturday. She has been convicted in the 66 Crore rupees disproportionate assets case and has been sentenced to four years in jail.
