Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been released from Jail in Bangalore today.
The special court Judge in Bangalore has ordered release of J Jayalalithaa and three others following Supreme Court order, after receiving sureties and bonds by their advocates. The Advocates for Jayalalitha submitted the apex court's bail order to the court today. After receipt of the bond and letters of sureties, the court ordered release of the convicts from the Bangalore central Jail.
The AIADMK chief is imprisoned in the central jail, Bangalore since the 27th of the last month in the disproportionate asset case.
The jail authorities will begin the release process upon receiving the court order. Our Correspondent reports that Ms. Jayalalitha and three others are likely to be released by 2 pm today. Due to the presence of Jayalalitha's supporters in large numbers, the police have cordoned off the jail surroundings and has imposed section 144 in the area.
