Replying to Modi's statement that AIADMK did not care for the people, she listed out the welfare measures implemented by her government for people living in poverty.

She compared the statistics of Gujarat and Tamilnadu and said the infant mortality rate in Gujarat was 38 out of every 1000 infants born whereas in

Tamilnadu it was 21 for 1000 infants. The maternal mortality rate is 90 in Tamilnadu, while it is 122 in Gujarat. Jayalalithaa also pointed out that the percentage of people living below poverty line is 11.3 in Tamilnadu, while it is 16.6 in Gujarat.

Launching a scathing an attack on Modi's statement that BJP did find a solution for the water shortage problem, she questioned whether it would give an assurance to implement the Mahanadi Godavari-Krishna river water project.
