The judgement on the disproportionate assets case of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa, her close aide Sasikala and two others is to be pronounced today by the trial Court at Bangalore. The case which was filed by the then State Government headed by DMK leader M.Karunanidhi has accused Ms.Jayalalithaa and her aides of heaping up wealth of upto Rs.66 crore.
The case which saw many twists and turns for the past 18 years is all set to end today even as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa and the others will be present at the Court as Justice John Michael Cunha will pronounce the verdict.
AIR correspondent reports, security has been tightened in the border areas between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The State police have stepped up security in the city of Chennai too. Vehicles plying in the Highways connecting Bangalore are in constant vigil to prevent untoward incidents. Political experts say that the verdict would change the political game if it goes against the Chief Minister. The AIADMK party functionaries are hopeful and the political rivals are keeping their fingers crossed even as Ms. Jayalalithaa and the others are to leave Chennai to Bangalore by a special flight this morning.
