Jayalalitha draws attention of PM on reduced allocation of Kerosene

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalitha has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to the reduced allocation of Kerosene to the state by the Centre.In a letter to the Prime Minister on Wednesday, she has underlined the need for the actual requirement which is 65,140 kilo litres for this month. Pointing out that presently the allocation is 44,580 kilolitres, she has sought Prime Minister’s intervention to enhance the quantity immediately. Referring to reduction in the gradual allocation by the Center for the last two years, the Chief Minister said that it would be very difficult for the State Government to meet the genuine domestic needs of the public as the number of card holders for various entitlements through PDS is 1. 95 crore.
