Jayalalitha accepts DMK leader Karunanidhi's challenge for open debate on Cauvery issue

AIADMK supremo today pitched for a non congress, non-BJP government at the centre. Addressing an election rally Arani in Tamil Nadu, she castigated both the BJP and the Congress parties for not mentioning even the name of Tamil Nadu in their manifestos. She said that AIADMK will not support parties which are ignorant of the needs of the people of the state. Jayalalithaa said price rise, economic situation, corruption and unemployment are important issues needed a permanent solution and neither of the national parties are able to deal with it in a responsible manner. Accepting the challenges posed by DMK leader Karunanidhi for an open debate on Cauvery issue, she said she is ready to face him in the assembly. She told that none of the parties including the BJP had wanted to solve the issue.

Blaming the rival DMK for the present condition where there was lack of electricity, she said that the party did not mind the welfare of the people but wanted to share power at the Centre for selfish reasons.
