The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa has strongly urged the Central Government to secure the early and safe release of the abducted district Collector Alex Paul Menon, in Chhattisgarh.

In a letter to Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh on Monday, Ms. Jayalalithaa stated that the local people of Tirunelveli and the parents of Mr. Alex are worried as the officer was not keeping well. Hoping that the Ministry of Home Affairs would take steps to ensure the release of the official, the Chief Minister said that the family members are stressed and are fervently looking forward to his early release.
