Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action for ending the ongoing strike of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) employees. In a letter to the PM today, she has demanded to instruct the Coal Ministry to look into grievances of the public sector staff of coal firm who have been on strike since 20th of this month.<br/><br/>They are insisting on 24 percent hike in wages with two increments, whereas the management is willing to offer 10 percent increase, saying the NLC remuneration is one among the best in all PSUs. The tripartite talks held in Chennai yesterday before the Regional Labour Commissioner K. Sekhar failed to arrive at any solution. NLC power units are some of the main sources of electricity for the state.
