The Chief Minister of Tamilnadu J Jayalalithaa appeared before the special court Judge B M Mallikarjunaiah for the second day today in Bangalore in connection with the disproportionate assets case against her. Jayalalithaa was summoned to make submissions in the special court. She answered 379 questions yesterday related to the case and was asked to appear today to complete the submissions. The third accused in the case V N Sudhakaran is also present in the court today. Jayalalitha is accused of acquiring assets worth about 66 crore rupees, disproportionate to her known sources of income during her tenure as Chief Minister between 1991 and 1996. Apart from Jayalalithaa, her close aide Sasikala, Sasikala's nephew V N Sudhakaran and her sister-in-law Ilavarasi have also been named in the case.
