The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa today announced that an SMS based system will be introduced in schools to monitor the attendance of the teachers. In her concluding remarks at the two day District Collectors conference in Chennai, Ms. Jayalalithaa also said Mango milk shakes for school children will be an additional menu under the noon meal scheme. An Institute of fisheries Technology at Nagapattinam and vocational training course for fishermen at Tiruvallur, establishment of a Training Unit on fire safety at Sivakasi, were also announced by the Chief minister. She also announced to set up of anti land grab cells at Nagapattinam,Karur and Tiruvannamalai. Compulsory installation of CCTVs at Commercial complexes and where public gather at large. Armed reserve complexes in seven places including Trichy and Nagapattinam. The State government also proposes to set up an anti Naxal wing in Theni and a bomb model room cum class room at a cost of Rs.25 Lakhs.
