Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal has rejected Congress criticism of his coming in defence of party President Amit Shah's son. <br/><br/>The Congress and others have questioned, how a Union Minister can defend Jay Shah, who is a private person. <br/><br/>Replying to a media query in New Delhi, Mr. Goyal said, the article published by the news website relates to an alleged unprecedented turnover by a company owned Jay Shah, is aimed at maligning the image and create doubts about the top BJP leaders. <br/><br/>He said the article has put photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and other leaders and in this situation it is natural for the party to defend. <br/><br/>Replying to another question over the appearance of Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for Jay Shah in the defamation case, Mr. Goyal said there is nothing illegal in it. <br/><br/>He said, a law officer can appear in a case related to two private persons after taking permission from the government. <br/><br/>Jay Shah has decided to file criminal and civil defamation suits of 100 crore rupees against the author of the article, editor and owner of the website.
