In Chhattisgarh, at least one jawan was killed and two others injured in an encounter between the police and naxalites in the Bastar district today. According to police sources, naxalites opened fire at a police party near Bayanar and the jawans retaliated. Three of the jawans were injured in the attack and were hospitalised at Jagdalpur and one of them later succumbed to his injuries. The Police have recovered an AK-47 from the spot.
