Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Prakash Javadekar has said the issue the leader of the opposition status is expected to be settled before the beginning of the first session of 16th Lok Sabha on the 4th of the next month.
Talking to reporters after assuming the charge of Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Javadekar said the government has already clarified that it is studying the provisions.
He was responding to a media query on granting the Leader of Oppostion status to Congress which does not have requisite numbers in the Lok Sabha.
In response to another question, the Minister said, BJP-led NDA government wants to take everyone along and hoped that all parties will cooperate with the programmes which are in national interest.
