In western Maharashtra 24 people have died due to Jaundice in Ichalkarnji town of Kolhapur District. More than 500 new cases have been reported in last four days. Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj Chavan visited Ichalkarnji today and took stock of the situation. He announced increased aid of one lakh rupees to the next of the kin of the victims. He also sanctioned 50 lakh rupees for the purchases of medicines to control the epidemic.
