The Railways on Wednesday cancelled two important trains connecting the Union Territory of Chandigarh with the national Capital because of Jat agitation. This includes the morning Shatabdi Express from Kalka / Chandigarh to New Delhi and the return service from the national capital in the evening. According to a Northern Railway spokesperson, the trains have been cancelled till Friday. The Delhi Sarai Rohilla -Chandigarh/Kalka Himalayan Queen has also been cancelled till Friday. The Chandigarh-Allahabad Unchahar Express will remain cancelled between New Delhi and Chandigarh. Delhi Bhatinda Inter City and the Ambala Ganganagar Inter City Expresses will also remain cancelled. A number of other mail and express trains running in the Northern region are also cancelled. Members of the Jat community are protesting for OBC reservation in government jobs.
