The Hryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Huda has said that the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti has withdrawn its agitation after negotiations with the government. Speaking to newsmen in Chandigarh this evening, Mr. Huda said that it was unfortunate that one person lost his life in the agitation in Hisar.The Government would provide a financial assistance of 10 lakh rupees to the next of kin of the deceased and the Government would also help the injured.About ongoing agitation demanding reservation for Jats, Mr. Hooda said that he received a proposal in April last that reservation for Jats should be made in OBC category. He said that he had favourably forward the same to the Prime Minister and the Central Government.Mr. Hooda said that some anti-social elements damaged public property and the administration was forced to impose curfew in Hisar and services of paramilitary forces were sought and Army was alerted. Chief Minister claimed that at some places the agitation was peaceful. About continuing curfew in Hisar district Hooda said that the district magistrate would decide about lifting the curfew. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony in the State and added that the Government would fully protect their life and property.
