Jat agitation: 81 trains cancelled in UP

In Uttar Pradesh, eighty one trains were cancelled today due to ongoing agitation by Jat community demanding OBC reservation in central government jobs.Members of the community are sitting on dharna at Kafurpur station of Jytobaphule Nagar for the last 14 days. The agitation has also affected the rail services in Haryana and Rajasthan. According to Northern Railway, 34 trains on Ghaziabad -Moradabad section and 33 on Delhi-Bhatinda section while 14 trains on Delhi-Rewari section have been cancelled so far. The Northern Railway spokesperson told AIR Allahabad correspondent that more than a dozen trains are running through diverted routes. He said that some other trains have also been short terminated due to rail blockade in different places. Despite assurance from Centre, the Jat leaders are continuing their agitation saying that they would end blockade only after Center takes concrete decision on OBC reservation issue.
