On Delhi-Moradabad section, 66 trains were cancelled today in view of agitation by Jat community in western parts of Uttar Pradesh. Today is the 11th day of their agitation. Northern Railway said due to ongoing agitation by Jat Mahasabha at Kafurpur station of Jyotibaphule Nagar more than one hundred and forty trains have been cancelled since yesterday. Meanwhile the Superintendent of police of Jyotibaphule Nagar Uday Pratap told AIR that, beside Railway Protection Force and General Rail Police ,local police force have also been deployed in troubled areas to maintain law and order. Sources said that railway has sent a letter to district administration to take action against those who damaged railway property. Jat leaders are demanding reservation for their community under OBC quota in central government jobs.
