In Haryana, the “Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti” called off their agitation today. The state President of the Samiti said that they have suspended the stir till September 13, to give time to the government to meet their demand for reservation under the OBC category. The State General Secretary of Jat Samiti, Mahender Singh Poonia said, since the Chief Minister has given assurance to the Khap leaders to grant OBC status to jats before September 13, the samiti has decided to suspend the stir.The protesters have since left the Railway tracks and all roads leading to Hisar including National Highway number 10 which was jammed for the last eight days. The traffic has resumed on all the roads. The Haryana Roadways buses have started plying on the roads.Earlier, the body of Sandeep who was killed in police action on March 6, was cremated at his village Mayyer.
