Jaswant Singh to decide by tomorrow about quitting BJP over denial of ticket

Aggrieved by denial of ticket to contest from Barmer, Senior BJP Leader Jaswant Singh has ruled out any compromise on his demand for Barmer constituency and appeared to keep his options open.

Mr Singh, who would be reaching Barmer today, refused to disclose his plans on whether he would be filing his nomination as an independent. Talking to media persons in Jodhpur Jaswant Singh said that he will announce his strategy tomorrow after meeting with his supporters.

BJP has given ticket to Col. Sonaram from Barmer who recently joined BJP after quitting Congress.Meanwhile, BJP President Rajnath Singh sought to placate Jaswant Singh by saying that he is a senior leader and his services will be utilised appropriately.

Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has said that she feels hurt over the denial of Barmer seat to senior party leader Jaswat Singh. She said that the party candidate for this seat was not decided at the BJP Central Election Committee meeting.
